About
Born and raised in rural southern Germany, I have been living and working in London for over 15 years. My first contact with photography was through my dad who documented everyday life in his communities.
Working across analogue and digital processes, my practice combines documentary photography, archival research, and dialogue with publishing. Often working collectively and collaboratively, I am interested in how individuals and groups shape a place, exploring the often unwritten histories of community formation and resistance. I see public space and local communities increasingly threatened by privatisation and gentrification.
My process invites collaboration and explores representation and collective authorship through ongoing dialogue with the people I work. My activities feed into public interventions, workshops, events, exhibitions, collective action, oral history and publishing projects.
In 2021 I initiated Road Less Travelled Press as a publishing framework for mutual exchanges and collaboration, co-organising reading groups and publication making workshops.
I work on photography and publishing projects and teach on the Documentary Photography BA and Photography BA at the London College of Communication.
